Maya Ruth's 5th B'day Slumber Party

Mimi and I took Maya, Lucy, and three close girlfriends to the Rodeo. It was the finals so we saw the best of the best. We saw bare back bronco riding, calf roaping, goat roaping, cowgirls, steer wrestling, and the queen of the Rodeo's corranation. The girls LOVED IT! They got to pet a horse. They got to see all the cowboys and cowgirls all dressed in their finest. It was quite a show!

Then we went back to Mimi's where she gave the girls pani-pedis and then Irene painted everyone's face. The girl's got to decorate their own cupcakes. Maya opened her gifts- a book and a vet set with a stuffed puppy and then they played with her new toy for a bit.

Mimi told them a few stories about my grandfather and his life on his farm. Then the girls went to sleep. Big girls in one room,

Lucy in the livingroom with me-

Maya Ruth bunked with her very best friend.

Mimi in all her grandbaby glory.

In the morning we made special pancakes.

Mother's Day Tea at Montessori

The kids served tea and cookies to the moms and grandmoms. (They practiced for two weeks) It was lovely.

This is Maya Ruth showing Mimi and me how she counts keys on her rug. She lines up the numbers and then sets out the number of keys under each number.

Here she is showing us one of the 2 classroom bunnies. (They also have 2 rats and a hamster)

at the ZOO

We wrapped up another great visit with Mimi this week with a trip to the zoo. Maya came with me to El Paso to drop Mimi and her dogs off to go home. We saw many animals and Maya had a great time. She was a real trooper and walked through the whole zoo.

Mimi's visit

We had a wonderful visit with Grandma Mimi. Maya and Lucy were so sorry to see her go home and say "We miss her already!" But we all hope she has a great time in Puerto Rico with Great Grandma Jean.
