The first baby goats of the season

Galen built a second pen with a larger shelter and we moved 5 of the 7 dams over to the new space. The first two kids were born just after dark on 4.23 and are Trixie's and they are bucklings (boys) They are so silly! It's wonderful. They are named 1-09 and 2-09.
This was just before the sun went down, facing our house from the new barn on the night Trix kidded.


The second dam, Genie, kidded this afternoon. She had two doelings. Maya named them Lilo and Nani.

Our Spring garden has Sprung!

It's mostly a salad garden at this point, lettuces and greens- the root veggies will be a little while longer. The peas are flowering, but the squash are still bare vines.

We had our Alpine-family here celebrating with us. It was delightful!

Mimi made her world famous matzohball soup with carrot and parsnip flowers, and scrumptious charoses. I roasted a leg of goat in pico de gallo and we made tacos. Good people, good food, good wine, good times!
