The girls made "sugar mountain" cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve with Grandma. They left them out for Santa and left some sugar for the reindeer. :)

Grass Fire 08

It started with a welding accident six properties away. It got here fast due to heavy winds. It burned here for about half an hour. I got the kids out when it reached the travel trailer. The last thing I saw before leaving was the fire rip through the garden. It just went around the house. The wind that brought it here saved us. Go figure! It burned about 7 1/2 acres of our land. We are so very lucky- no one, no animals and no structures burned. Thank Goodness! We are feeling very lucky today. Happy Holidays!

I have been putting her there to hang out and nap during the day. She puts herself to sleep in there really well. So, I guess I should get the monitor set up and try putting her in there at night. Of course then I would have to walk all the way across the house to do night feedings. Hmmmm.

Day 35

Violet is weighing in at 9.5lbs and has started focusing on objects and shapes. She is much more alert when awake and awake for much longer stretches. so exciting!
